Interfaith Holiday Celebrations in Pakistan Print E-mail

Lahore, Pakistan. Events Organized by the Tehreek Taraque-E-Insaniate(TTI-CC) with coordination of Peace and Development Foundation (PDF) on 23rd December 2005 at Forman Christian College, Lahore and a Interfaith Poetry event on the 8th.

Event Held on 8th Dec. in St. Mary's Parish Hall.

An evening of Interfaith Poetry, or Mushara, in Urdu. was held on the theme of Christmas and Peace. Seventeen interfaith Poets and about 100 interfaith ladies and gents partcipated and Poets recited their Poetry in a real spirt of peace and love. In their poetry they recited that The Jesus Christ is Prince of Peace and X-Mas is for all humanity. We organized this event with St.Mary's church,Gulberg-Lahore.

December 23rd Children's Celebration

The Progamme started at 7:30 P.m. with a prayer by Mr. Samuel. There after Mr. Yuel Bhatti welcomed the guests. Mr. Younis Khan and Mrs. Elishba Yuel, in charge Sunday School of Peace and Development Foundation, explained the activities and eve of X-Mas and New Year.

Tableau-Prince of Peace
The Children of PDF presented a beautiful X-mas Tableau- The theme of the Tableau was  “Prince of Peace.” The stage was well decorated with Prayer-“May Peace Prevail on Earth,” Happy X-Mas, and "Wish you very Happy New Year". Children played the story of Jesus Christ's birth with confidence wearing beautiful historical costumes. Meanwhile Miss Mehvis, Miss Sana and Mrs. Elishba did the good job of presenting.

X-Mas Carols: The Choir of St. Mary’s Church Model Colony with Peace and Development Foundation children sang X-Mas Carols in zealous spirit, peace and love.



We lightened a Peace Candle for World Peace and Earthquake victims. The guests and audiance and Children lightened the Peace Candle while holding their counrty's Flags and said Prayers

“May Peace Prevail on Earth”
“May Peace Prevail in Pakistan”
“May Peace Really prevail in coming New Year-2006”
Mr. Younis Khan led the prayer for world Peace and Earthquake victims.


X-Mas Cake Cutting Ceremony was held together with guests and Children. Presents were distributed among the Tableau Children. 21 Children took part in the tableau.

The Chief Guest was Mr. Victor Daniel, Chief Editor of Catholic Naqeeb. We gave tribute to Mr. Yuel Bhatti and all the team of TTI, PDF, and organizers of the show. The event was great and the children and choir's presentation was marvelous and he said the eve of X-Mas is the real story of “Peace and Love for all humanity.” "The Jesus Christ birth is actual solidarity for all mankind healing.”

Mr. Younis Bhatti, Human activist presiding over the ceremony, said that he was very excited to see the efforts of Children’s Tableau. Mrs. Elishaba polished the Children to play wonderful great show on the stage and the Direction of Miss Mehvis are wonderful. I congratulate the entire Children team for holding the wonderful event. He also said that he was much inspired the dedication of Mr. Yuel Bhatti and Mr. Younis Khan and their entire team their efforts to promoting peace in Lahore-Pakistan.

Thereafter tea was served with refreshments to all the participants.
