URI’s Cooperation Circle Faith 2 Faith had a wonderful celebration of Diwali in the UK.  People of diverse faiths came together to share in this light-filled Hindu holiday.

Here are a few words on Diwali from Kiran Bali of the Faith2Faith CC:

Diwali is a universal festival of the light of love. The purpose is not to glorify the light of the candle, or the light of the firecracker - the purpose is to glorify the eternal light of God. In a spiritual context, as this light penetrates inwards, it brightens all aspects of life, dispelling the darkness of ignorance and ushering in the light of knowledge and Divinity.
