Daily Prayers: Reflecting on the PPPs

A selection of daily prayers in reflection of URI's PPPs for CCs across the globe (Day 333 to Day 328).

Day 333:

Let us pray/ meditate today with the last three paragraphs of our Preamble: “We unite to provide a global opportunity for participation by all people, especially by those whose voices are not often heard. We unite to celebrate the joy of blessings and the light of wisdom in both movement and stillness.

We unite to use our combined resources only for nonviolent, compassionate action, to awaken to our deepest truths, and to manifest love and justice among all life in our Earth community.”

The Preamble expresses the vision and it is necessary that we grow to make it real. These beautiful words in it are a challenge to each of us: URI affiliates, CC members, Regional and Global Support Staff, Global Council, President’s Council. We are called to walk the talk. Let us pray/ meditate and center our spirits in these words so that our actions manifest them.

May we unite to provide a global opportunity for participation by all people, especially by those whose voices are not often heard. May Peace prevail!

May we unite to celebrate the joy of blessings and the light of wisdom in both movement and stillness. May Peace prevail!

May we unite to use our combined resources only for nonviolent, compassionate action, to awaken to our deepest truths, and to manifest love and justice among all life in our Earth community.

May Peace prevail on Earth!

Day 332:

Please join me in praying / meditating with our preamble once more. The next paragraph says: "We unite in responsible cooperative action to bring the wisdom and values of our religions, spiritual expressions and indigenous traditions to bear on the economic, environmental, political and social challenges facing our Earth community."

When I was young I learnt :what you have is not yours, you are only administrating it. There is wisdom and values in our religions, spiritual expressions and indigenous traditions, we need to share them. Our world faces terrible challenges, only if we unite and if we are generous to share and cooperate we will be able to offer solutions.

May we unite in responsible cooperative action! May Peace prevail!

May we bring the wisdom and values of our religions, spiritual expressions and indigenous traditions to bear on the economic, environmental, political and social challenges facing our Earth Community! May Peace prevail on Earth!

Day 331:

I invite you to continue our prayer/ meditation with our preamble: “We unite to build cultures of peace and justice. We unite to heal and protect the Earth. We unite to build safe places for conflict resolution, healing and reconciliation. We unite to support freedom of religion and spiritual expression, and the rights of all individuals and peoples as set forth in international law”.

The cause we have set for together is not easy. Our possibility of success resides in gathering our individual strengths, sharing our capacities and supporting each other. Our preamble calls us to unite in diversity. In a world desperately needing Peace let us pray / meditate that we can create Unity.

May we unite to build cultures of peace and justice! May Peace prevail!

May we unite to heal and protect the Earth! May Peace prevail!

May we unite to build safe places for conflict resolution, healing and reconciliation! May Peace prevail!

May we unite to support freedom of religion and spiritual expression, and the rights of all individuals and peoples as set forth in international law!
May Peace prevail on Earth!

Day 330:

I invite you to pray / meditate the first part of our preamble: “We respect the uniqueness of each tradition, and differences of practice or belief. We value voices that respect others and believe that sharing our values and wisdom can lead us to act for the good of all. We believe that our religious, spiritual lives rather than dividing us, guide us to build community and respect for one another. Therefore, as interdependent people rooted in our traditions, we now unite for the benefit of our Earth community.”

Let us reflect on how we live into this vision. Let us pray/ meditate for
support:

May we respect the uniqueness of each tradition, and differences of practice or belief.  May Peace prevail!

May we value voices that respect others and believe that sharing our values and wisdom can lead us to act for the good of all. May Peace prevail!

May we believe that our religious , spiritual lives rather than dividing us, guide us to build community and respect for one another. May Peace prevail!

May we, as interdependent people rooted in our traditions, unite for the benefit of our Earth community. May Peace prevail on Earth!

Day 329:

Yesterday I invited you to pray/ meditate to support all CCs in the world. I suggest that we keep this prayer/ meditation for our Community during all the week.

Let us reflect about what we are involved in as members of URI Community (CCS, Regional and Global Staff, Global Council, Presidents Council) by praying/meditating with our preamble:

We, people of diverse religions, spiritual expressions and indigenous traditions through the world, hereby establish the United Religions Initiative to promote enduring daily interfaith cooperation to end religiously motivated violence and to create cultures of peace, justice and healing for the Earth and all living beings.

May we, members of all CCs, Regional and Global staff, Global Council and President´s Council fulfill our aspirations and live in Peace!

May Peace prevail among us!

May Peace prevail in our relationships!

May Peace prevail in on Earth!

Day 328:

Last Friday when praying/meditating to support our CC in Taiwán we finished praying for all ccs in the 2007 Community Directory.

I suggest that we take a deep breath, acknowledge all the good work that we learnt is taking place, recognize that there is still a lot to do and wounds that we need to heal.

Let us feel the power of unity and the blessing of belonging to a spiritual community sharing the passion of building peace.

Let us give up tension, mistrust.

Let us be the change we want to see in others. Let us be the change we want to see in the world!

May Peace prevail in URI community!

May Peace prevail on Earth!
