Gyeongju, Daejeon City,& Seoul, Korea. Greetings of peace and love from Korea.  In addition to the stories, I would like to report what happened in URI-Korea, IDP.

In fact, last month I was appointed as a fulltime professor of the department of Seon [Zen] Studies of Dongguk University at Gyeongju, the capital of Silla Kingdom. Therefore, I gave a lecture on URI and IDP to my students the day before IDP.
Then in the IDP afternoon, as the representative of URI, I took a part in the seminar at Daejeon City on the "World Religious Peace Center" which will be built at the downtown of the New Administrative Complex City in Chungcheong Province in the south of Seoul. The city is being planned by the government of Korea as a new capital.  The Organizing group is looking to WCRP and URI as the global interreligious peace organizations. I talked about URI as well as IDP.  I have emphasized that the center should be the real one as the Secretariat of religious UN and URI will take parts in the project for promoting peace in Korea and the world. The keynote speech was given by Dr. Kim, Secretary General of ACRP and a member of National Assembly of Korea. However, I thought that it was good occasion to share the URI spirit with various religious and political leaders of local and national context. I have been asked to join the preparatory committee of the project.

In the evening of IDP, URI-Korea had a monthly URI Peace Forum at the downtown Seoul, commemorating IDP. I invited Dr, Yongbok Kim, a Christian theologian and President of Graduate School of Life, as the keynote speaker. He has worked as an international activist in the church movement. After the forum we had prayers for world peace by various religious leaders and a buffet dinner together. I have announced to them that we will have 2006 URI-Korea MCC Annual Meetings in Mt. Songni Youth-town, Oct. 21-22. We will have a good time at there with colorful autumnal tints.

Let us create cultures of peace, justice and healing for the Earth and all living beings.
May Peace Prevail on Earth!
All the best,
Jinwol
