I would like to share with you that the Pastoral Institute Multan, Justice and Peace Commission Pakistan and URI MCC Pakistan have jointly decided to organize a one day program to celebrate the International Day of Peace on September 21. This way, we as Pakistanis, will put our share for the  world peace.

Several other Peace Activists and NGO's such as Multan Peace Network, National Justice and Peace Commission, Taraqee Pasand Organization, Amnesty International, Liberal Liberty Forum and Christian Muslim Dialogue Commission will also join us. These NGOs are also having some programs on their own for this important day. Our program will be held at the Pastoral Institute Multan. It will be a full day program which will involve youth, children, religious, political, social and human rights activities and promoters of interfaith peace and harmony. It will include a Peace Walk, releasing of doves, peace songs, short articles on peace and speech by various youth members and religious and other leaders. 
 
In connection with this day we are also going to have AMAN MUSHAIRA "Poetry Concert on Peace" as well. It will be on 19th of September. We are expecting about 50 Muslim, Christian, Hindu and Baha’i poets who will be reciting and singing poems on peace. There will be another 200 guests for this poetry concert. This program will be at the Pastoral Institute as well. We will be hosting dinner, too.  Along with that I have sent a letter providing in information and history of the International Peace Day and some suggestion on how this day can be celebrated to all 17 URI Coordinators in Pakistan. I have urged them to organize programs on peace to make this day very significant and meaningful. I will share with you more details later on and will also report to you about this grand celebration we are organizing.
