URI is happy to announce that in the year 2007, a total of fifty-five new CCs were added to our global community. In their last meeting of the year, the Global Council approved the Debate Club CC, the Center for Religious Tolerance CC, The Kottarakkara Interfaith Centre CC, and Heartbeat: Jerusalem CC. We welcome all of our new CCs; each one has a special purpose in bringing peace and joy to our world.
The Debate Club CC is geared toward university students and graduates, with an interest in promoting activities such as debates, international youth exchanges, and events where guest speakers are invited to talk about pressing issues. This CC is uniting youth in Syria, Poland, Spain, the UK and more. [Primary Contact: Mouafaq Hashem: Jarratt Hall, 55 Dale Road, Selly Oak, Birmingham, B29 6 FG, UK;
