Middle East and North Africa

A selection of prayers representing the Middle East and North Africa Cooperation Circles from 365 Days of Prayer (Day 211 to 204, Day 101 to 82).

Day 211:

We are on our last day in the Middle East and North Africa and we will support Abo- Assukar Centre for Peace and Dialogue This cooperation circle was formed with the purpose: “To spread Culture of Peace” This is what members say about their work: “We have always believed in international exchange and especially among different and diverse cultures therefore, we were attracted to URI. Our group was formed by volunteers who were very significant and heroic figures in the Palestinian society. One of our highlights was a joint football school project and some breaking the ice projects such as expedition to the Antarctica 2004 and religious dialogue meetings.”

Divisions are deep and painful, sometimes simple and loving actions help to overcome them. The initiative of this cc creating projects to break the ice sounds very interesting.

Let us support their work: May members of Abo – Assukar centre for Peace and Dialogue fulfill their aspirations and live in Peace!

May Peace prevail in Middle East and North Africa!

May Peace prevail on Earth!

*********************************************************************

Day 210:

Let’s us go back to Middle East and support Nablus Youth Federation CC. This Cooperation Circle was created with this purpose: “We work to improve society and solve the struggle between Palestinian and Israeli people.”

On Sunday, the magazine of the newspaper we receive at home had a cover with a palestinian and a jewish boy walking together. One of them had his arm over the other´s shoulder. This image reminded me of the many efforts for peace I know through URI and was happy that that people in Buenos Aires were going to learn about some of them.

There is a lot of good and dedicated work for Peace in places in conflict. It is good that we make it visible. Let us support the work of this cc with our prayer/ meditation:

May members of Nablus Youth Federation CC fulfill their aspirations and live in Peace!

May Peace prevail in Middle East and North Africa!

May Peace prevail on Earth!

*********************************************************************

Day 209:

Let’s finish our prayer/ meditation reflecting about the Peace that we can build together. There is great need for Peace. Violence has different expressions: armed conflicts, hunger, injustice, discrimination, destruction of the environment, violation of Human Rights, ignorance and others. There are cooperation circles around the world formed by people of diverse religions, spiritual expressions and indigenous traditions working to end violence and create cultures of peace, justice and healing.

There are also other individuals and organizations involved in search of Peace Let us pray/ meditate together:

May all individuals and organizations building Peace achieve their aim!

May affiliates, donors, staff, trustees and members of all URI cooperation circles fulfill their aspiration to create cultures of Peace, Justice and Healing for the Earth and all living beings!

May Peace prevail in our hearts! May Peace prevail in our families!

May Peace prevail in our communities!

May Peace prevail in our countries!

May Peace prevail in our regions!

May Peace prevail in URI!

May Peace prevail on Earth!

*********************************************************************

Day 208:

Let's reflect today on Peace we receive. The one that comes from the Highest and the Earth. Peace brought by those that are close and those from far away. Peace offered by those who we love and those we have to learn to love. Peace within our faith traditions, Peace built in dialogue with diverse religions, spiritual expressions and indigenous traditions. Peace coming from friendship, shared vision and work in our cooperation circle. Peace we experience when we achieve our goal. Peace we enjoy when we pray/meditate together. Let us be grateful for Peace:

May Peace prevail in our hearts!

May Peace prevail in our families!

May Peace prevail in our communities!

May Peace prevail in our countries!

May Peace prevail in our regions!

May Peace prevail in URI!

May Peace prevail on Earth!

*********************************************************************

Day 207:

On this second day of prayer/meditation of our 72 hours for peace let us concentrate in the peace we can offer. Peace that comes from deep in our hearts and opens to others expressed in care, forgiveness, patience, respect, love. Peace that transforms the place we are in and the relations we build. Let us be instruments of Peace:

May Peace prevail in our hearts!

May Peace prevail in our families!

May Peace prevail in our communities!

May Peace prevail in our countries!

May Peace prevail in our regions!

May Peace prevail in URI!

May Peace prevail on Earth!

*********************************************************************

Day 206:

On December 29th, 30th and 31st in 1999 URI community around the world joined in 72 hours for peace in preparation for the new millennium. It was a moving experience of togetherness. Seven years have passed. URI has grown a lot: we signed the Charter, we have more than 370 cooperation circles operating locally, connected globally scattered in 70 countries, we have developed a structure that supports this work with a Global Council, Regional and Global Staff and a future President’s Council.

There is a lot to be joyful and grateful for. At the same time we face on-going traumas in the world both personal and public. Situations as the one in Pakistan today that show us that daily interfaith cooperation to end religiously motivated violence is urgent, that we need to work enduringly to build personal, local, regional and global peace. We have prayed /meditated to support 205 cooperation circles and we will continue doing so after January 1st.

We now invite you to participate in 72 hours of prayer/ meditation for peace:

May Peace prevail in our hearts!

May Peace prevail in our families!

May Peace prevail in our communities!

May Peace prevail in our countries!

May Peace prevail in our regions!

May Peace prevail in URI!

May Peace prevail on Earth!

*********************************************************************

Day 205:

Let us pray / meditate to support The Hope Flowers School. The purpose of this cooperation circle is: “To educate a new generation in the sense of peace and democracy so that we find and strengthen positive attitudes for peaceful coexistence among different nations in the basis of equality and justice”. This is what members tell us about their formation and activities: “Our CC group formed through the common activities we do together through the Hope Flowers School. Through the School we have been bringing people together from different places, faiths, nationalities and from different cultures to work together on issues of joint interest and unite in one culture of peace, justice and equality. We are looking to make real URI's purpose and principles by doing our best efforts to promote these principles in our community and in every aspect of our work. Hope Flowers School offers Inter- and Intra cultural understanding classes taught by both Christian and Muslim teachers, long-standing programs of bridge-building with Israelis, Peace education and joint activities with schools outside of Palestine. Please refer to our web site for further information on our uniqueness: http://ww.hope-flowers.org

Education is an excellent bridge building activity, really needed to overcome ignorance and predjudice. Let us support the important work this cc is doing.

*********************************************************************

Day 204:

Having prayed /meditated to support all ccs in Europe we pass to the Middle East and North Africa to support those in Palestinian Authority. Today we will pray/ meditate to support Palestinian and Peace Society CC This cooperation circle was created with the Purpose: “To enhance Peace between different religions”. This is what members share with us in the Community Directory: “We struggle for peace between different religions and nations. Many activities have been carried out with Jewish neighbors and Americans of the same attitude. Our plans are to spread peace "ideology" on grass-roots level. This is our motto and hope”.

The introduction of URI of our Charter reads: Today, people’s hopes are rising with visions of a better world. It is a world where the values and teachings of the great wisdom traditions guide people’s service, where people respect one another’s beliefs, and where the resourcefulness and passion of ordinary people working together bring healing and a more helpful future to the Earth Community. It is clear that what we read about Palestinian and Peace Society CC goes in this line.

Let us gather our spiritual strength to support their hope and work May Palestinian and Peace Society CC fulfill their aspirations and live in Peace!

May Peace prevail in Middle East and North Africa !

May Peace prevail on Earth!

*********************************************************************

Day 101:

Today we will gather in prayer/meditation to support The Quested Peace CC.

This cooperation circle was formed by elders & youth from different walks of life and faiths who share similar goals: “Promote understanding & cooperation between people of different cultures & religious traditions and Help our local community.”

This is what we read about them in the community directory: “The story began in May 2001, when a group of vibrant youth established a youth initiative at The University of Jordan Alumni Club to improve graduates’ life and professional skills and help our local community. In the wake of World Trade Center tragedy & its global repercussions, a new mission emerged: How can we combat the growing cultural misconceptions and stereotypes among nations?  We believe that, to achieve real peace, we should establish cooperation between governments, NGO’s and people. This cooperation should be based on religious tolerance, respect, and intercultural understanding. We established Quested Peace in June 2003 as a non-profit group, locally rooted in our traditions and commitment to helping our community, and globally connected for the creation of a more peaceful world. Quested Peace supports the purpose and the principles of the United Religions Initiative (URI).In January 2004, Quested Peace joined URI as a cooperation circle. We do: Voluntary work & community service, Capacity building, Local & global interfaith dialogue, Intercultural Exchanges, Social and recreational activities, Networking.”

We can perceive their enthusiasm and commitment. Let us support them with our prayer/meditation in the same spirit.

May members of The Quested Peace CC fulfill their aspirations and live in Peace!

May Peace prevail in Jordan!

May Peace prevail in Middle East and North Africa!

May Peace prevail on Earth!

*********************************************************************

Day 100:

We have been together in prayer 100 days. This says a lot of our commitment and mutual appreciation. We hope that this project has brought us spiritually closer and more aware of what cooperation circles are doing around the globe.

Let us continue in prayer and meditation. Today we will support Masar CC in Jordan.

Members have gathered strengths to acchieve this purpose: “Introduce interfaith dialogue to the Jordanian community and utilize our regional networks to create understanding and communication between Muslims, Christians, and Jews in the region.  Focus on youth and their active involvement in this regard since we have active youth networks”.

They describe themselves like this: “We are an organization composed of mainly youth and work in the fields of peace, co-existence and dialogue between Jews and Arabs. We believe that religion can play a constructive role in creating communication and understanding among different peoples of the Middle East. We took part in the URI international conference held in Jordan in September 2003, and since then we have held many smaller meetings for Jordanian members of our network. We will organize meetings both for Jordanians and other activists to build on their current projects and initiatives.”

They have given solid basis to their construction. Let us support in prayer/meditation their growth.

May members of Masar CC fulfill their aspirations and live in Peace!

May Peace prevail in Jordan!

May Peace prevail in Middle East and North Africa!

May Peace prevail on Earth!

*********************************************************************

Day 99:

Today we will support Jordan Seeds of Peace CC.

This cooperation circle approved in November 2006 was created with the purpose of “Spreading the idea of peace in the world, in our families, friends, and region.”

We read about them in the Community Directory “All of our members are voluntarily working for Seeds of Peace organization programs as delegation leaders. Seeds of Peace (SOP) is an American NGO dedicated to empowering young leaders from regions of conflict with the leadership skills required to advance reconciliation and coexistence. Our Activities: 1- Interfaith gatherings (to enhance the dialogue among Arab and Israelis). 2-Capacity building (we organize workshops on Dialogue, Handling difficult situations, Effective Communication Skills, Team Buildings...etc) our target group is School student and School teachers.”

Our Charter brings “Guidelines for Action”, one of the tracks is “Nurturing Cultures of Healing and Peace”. The activities developed by Jordan Seeds of Peace provide a safe space where this nurturing can happen. Let us support their good work.

May members of Jordan Seeds of Peace fulfill their aspirations and live in Peace!

May Peace prevail in Jordan!

May Peace prevail in Middle East and North Africa!

May Peace prevail on Earth!

*********************************************************************

Day 98:

We will support Jordan Interfaith Action CC in prayer/meditation today.

Jordan Interfaith Action Cooperation Circle was created in 2002 “To build bridges between youth in Jordan with youth from outside Jordan.  Also to spread the Interfaith Dialogue principles among Jordanian youth.”

They shared with us this very good description of their identity: “JIA is a group of Jordanian youth who believe in interfaith dialogue and social work and whose mission is to promote their concepts and importance through the community. JIA believes the culture of Peace and non-violence as language for dialogue and understanding. JIA also will represent Jordan in international forums and conferences and will help build bridges of understanding between youth from different cultures and religious background, to break stereotypes and to promote the Jordanian example on coexistence and diversity.”

Our principle number one says “We are a bridge building organization, not a religion.” Bridges among religions, cultures, nations are really needed. It is so important that people of the world are in respectfull and enrichening contact! Let us support the bridgebuilding work done by Jordan Interfaith Action CC.

May members of Jordan Interfaith Action CC fulfill their aspirations and live in Peace!

May Peace prevail in Jordan!

May Peace prevail in Middle East and North Africa!

May Peace prevail on Earth!

*********************************************************************

Day 97:

Today we will support Jadara Interfaith Action CC.

This cooperation circle develops its activity in Jordan to achieve this purpose: “To bring peace to our region through facilitating inter-religious dialogue and understanding, and by taking actions and initiatives which brings people from different religions closer together.”

Their members share with us: “Our most memorable activity as a CC has been taking part in the “National Days for Interfaith Youth Service” 21-23 April 2006, as we took part in activities held by Jordan Interfaith Action CC at Theodor Schneller School for the less advantaged, implementing a set of exercises as to promote peace through sports. Now as Jadara Interfaith Action CC will be the first of kind working in the north of Jordan, we are planning to hold several activities such as seminars, workshops and conferences as to promote for interfaith and religious dialogue amongst local communities, mainly targeting Youth as being agents of effective change in the society.”

The URI is made up of groups of all over the world who take many different kinds of actions to serve a common purpose. This shared purpose and work creates a special relationship between cc members. We hope this relationship will help end religiously motivated violence and create cultures of peace, justice and healing. Let us support Jadara Interfaith Action CC so that their actions and initiatives bring them closer together as they state in their purpose.

May members of Jadara Interfaith Action CC fulfill their aspirations and live in Peace!

May Peace prevail in the north of Jordan!

May Peace prevail in Middle East and North Africa!

May Peace prevail on Earth!

Day 94:

Still in Israel we will support in prayer/meditation IEA Tel Aviv Youth Interfaith Encounter CC today.

This cooperation circle was formed “To enhance mutual understanding and respect among members of all faiths through inter-religious dialogue. To promote in the Holy Land and the Middle East the people-to-people peace through interfaith dialogue as a bridge builder between people of different faith affiliations, including those who are non-practicing.”

The description of activities in the Community Directory reads: “We are one of the on-going groups of the Interfaith Encounter Association.  We focus on young adults and have had four study sessions in the last year.”

Our preamble says “We believe that our religious, spiritual lives, rather than diving us, guide us to build community and respect for one another.” Helping young adults to live into this as  IEA Tel Aviv Youth Interfaith Encounter CC is clearly a bridge to peace. Let us support their work:

May members of IEA Tel Aviv Youth Interfaith Encounter CC fulfill their aspirations and live in Peace!

May Peace prevail in Israel!

May Peace prevail in Middle East and North Africa!

May Peace prevail on Earth!

Day 93:

We will pray/meditate to support IEA Karmiel-Majd el-Krum Interfaith Encounter CC.

We only find contact information in the community directory about this cc but we have been receiving news about their activities through the list. In fact yesterday we received this message from them: "On Tuesday, June 19th 2007, we held a day that marked the highlight of the joint activities of Jewish and Muslim students around the theme of "Coexistence." The activity took place in Kalanit School in Karmiel. We had the pleasure of hosting representatives of the Embassy of the United States of America, who were nicely greeted by the 3rd graders and enjoyed the singing of the joint coir.

The students presented to them the fruits of our efforts during the year – processes and products of joint work. They gave explanations about the project that includes three circles: encounters of the children, encounters with the parents and activities for the educators. The goal is to create openness and awareness among the children to the issue of living together and education for tolerance, peace and coexistence – through experiential encounters and internalization of basic concepts in the two cultures, while emphasizing joint and similar values in the religions and the cultures. A parallel goal is to integrate the parents of the students into a circle of acquaintance and experience in joint encounters. The distinguished guests summarized by expressing how much they appreciate the activity and the educational investment manifested in the school children."

Living together is not that easy. It is very important to educate for tolerance, peace and coexistence. This project implies reaching a large community of students, parents, teachers and school authorities. Let us support their marvelous work.

May members of IEA Karmiel-Majd el-Krum Interfaith Encounter CC fulfill their aspirations and live in Peace!

May Peace prevail in Israel!

May Peace prevail in Middle East and North Africa!

May Peace prevail on Earth!

***************************************************************

Day 91:

Let us gather in prayer/meditation to support IEA Jerusalem Women's Interfaith Encounter CC today.

This cooperation circle was formed with the purpose: "To empower women to take more leadership roles in the broader interfaith environment - which is generally dominated in Israel by Rabbis, priests, and sheiks. To expand Interfaith dialogue beyond the regular interfaith professionals - to students, homemakers and others."

Appreciate their description of activities in our community directory: We are an intergenerational group of Muslim, Christian and Jewish women who have been meeting together in the City of Jerusalem monthly for a year and a half, studying each other's religions through topics relevant to women. We visit each other's homes and have social activities and interfaith holiday celebrations. In spite of the tensions, violence and mistrust in our Holy City, we focus on the energies of women, inclusiveness, tolerance, harmony and compassion, as a way to heal ourselves and others. We have retreats to nourish and strengthen each other and to plan activities. We create an oasis of peace that demonstrates the truth of all our religions and the possibility for tolerant co-existence and love.

It is important that we reach our communities and the spaces where the pain hurts and healing is urgent. The image of an oasis of peace in the midst of tension and mistrust is marvellous. Let us pray/meditate to support its creation

May members of IEA Jerusalem Women´s Interfaith Encounter CC fulfill their aspirations and live in Peace!

May Peace prevail in Jerusalem!

May Peace prevail in Middle East and North Africa!

May Peace prevail on Earth!

***************************************************************

Day 90:

Still in Israel we will pray/meditate to support IEA Jerusalem Interfaith Encounter CC today.

This cooperation circle was created "To enhance mutual understanding and respect among members of all faiths through inter-religious dialogue. To promote in the Holy Land and the Middle East the people-to-people peace through interfaith dialogue as a bridge builder between people of different faith affiliations, including those who are non-practicing" and this is how they describe thir steady work "We are one of the Interfaith Encounter Association's on-going groups. We reorganized in early 2003 and have been holding monthly study sessions and/or study visits."

Rich and appreciative inter-religious dialogue has proved to be essential in the search to acchieve our purpose ("The purpose of the United Religions Initiative is to promote enduring, daily interfaith cooperation, to end religiously motivated violence and create cultures of peace, justice and healing for the Earth and all living beings"). Let us support IEA Jerusalem Interfaith Encounter CC in their dialogue.

***************************************************************

Day 89:

Today we will support in prayer/meditation IEA Galilee Women's Interfaith Encounter CC created with the purpose of:  “Interfaith study and inter-cultural dialogue.”

This is how they describe their activities in the community directory: “We began meeting in July 2002, bringing Muslim, Christian, Jewish and Druze women in Israel together to study topics relevant to women from the point of view of the four religions.  We meet in each other's villages and towns and create opportunities to bridge the gaps that divide our faith communities and cause hatred and mistrust. We demonstrate the love and camaraderie of women meeting together in peace and harmony.”

It is very important to live into what we believe and to be examplars of what we are saying. Demonstrating love and camaraderie is a very effective way to open eyes and move hearts. Let us support these women so they can bridge the gaps created by hatred and mistrust.

May members of IEA Galilee Women´s Interfaith Encounter CC fulfill their aspirations and live in Peace!

May Peace prevail in Israel!

May Peace prevail in Middle East and North Africa!

May Peace prevail on Earth!

*****************************************************************

Day 88:

We pass to support our cooperation circles in Israel. We will pray/meditate to support Eilat Interfaith Encounter CC today.

In a difficult context this group was formed with the purpose: "To know and learn all religions. We believe that friendship can bring to peace and better life."

This is what they briefly explain about their very steady and needed work: "More than 2 years of learning at least one meeting in a month. Our group meets with the Karmiel/Magd’l-Kroom group in Magd’l-Kroom. We hope to go to Egypt."

Friendship is a value that can change the world. If we see and treat each other as friends we would have given a good step forward to peace as Eliat Interfaith Encounter CC believes. Let us support their effort in search of a better life.

May members of Eliat Interfaith Encounter CC fulfill their aspirations and live in Peace!

May Peace prevail in Israel!

May Peace prevail in Middle East and North Africa!

May Peace prevail on Earth!

*******************************************************************

Day 87:

We pass to Iran where we will support Iran Youths for Peace and Inter-Religious Dialogue CC.

This very clear purpose moves their action: “To get familiar with different religions and to create friendship between youths of different religions. To promote the culture of peace and justice among youths. To hold small meetings for Iranian youths to acquaint them with the common ground that religions share in the building of peace and peaceful co-existence."

We really need youth involvement. We need their ideals, their energy, their wisdom, their commitment to build a better future for coming generations. Let us enthusiastically support their work with our prayer:

May members of Iran Youths for Peace and Inter religious Dialogue CC fulfill their aspirations and live in Peace!

May Peace prevail in Iran!

May Peace prevail in Middle East and North Africa!

*******************************************************************

Day 86:

Still in Egypt we will pray/meditate to support Planet-E CC.

This cooperation circle was formed some years ago with this Purpose: "Helping to create a new world we named it Planet E (earth) that enjoys PEACE by giving the chance for groups of youngsters from different cultures and religions to be together in activities that bring more communication and understanding as a step for acceptance and friendship that lead to cooperation creating this new/old Planet- E (earth)."

Planet E CC members share with us their conviction, activities and plans: "We are convinced we all want to do something useful for this planet we all love and care about. As a CC we didn’t wait for the approval, we started together on December 31 visiting some orphan houses, presenting some toys, books and sweets  and having some photos with the kids. For the future we plan to support in different fields but mainly in Religious Harmony (starting from Egypt where we live) Kids Happiness ( specially orphans) and Arts (as a method of communication and a way of understanding)."

It is important to offer energy for the creation of a world that enjoys peace. Let us support their effort with our prayers/meditations.

May members of Planet–E CC fulfill their aspirations and live in Peace!

May Peace prevail in Egypt!

May Peace prevail in Middle East and North Africa!

May Peace prevail on Earth!

*******************************************************************

Day 85:

We pass to Egypt today. We are going to pray/meditate to support Egyptian Interfaith Association CC.

This Cooperation Circle was created with these purposes: “To further interfaith dialogue and mutual understanding in Egypt.  To create and develop new religious discourses encountering our social, political, cultural, and economic problems.  To launch our religiously motivated social action projects, created and maintained by religious people belonging to different traditions.  To make conflict resolution initiatives once religious conflicts erupt and to help prevent them in the future by exploring and treating the underlying causes.  To stretch our hands all over the world so that we can exchange ideas and experience.”

We say in our preamble: “We unite in responsible cooperative action to bring the wisdom and values of our religions, spiritual expressions and indigenous traditions to bear on the economic, environmental, political and social challenges facing our Earth community.” Egyptian Interfaith Association CC responds to this at a local level and stretches to us. Let us stretch to them and support their work in prayer/meditation:

May members of Egyptian Interfaith Association CC fulfill their aspirations and live in Peace!

May Peace prevail in Egypt!

May Peace prevail in Middle East and North Africa!

May Peace prevail on Earth!

*******************************************************************

Day 84:

We invite you to support Women's Interfaith Network of the Middle East and N. Africa CC with our prayer/meditation today.

The purpose of this cooperation circle is: “1) to learn together and share information about our religions, traditions, and customs in order to dispel stereotypes, avoid prejudice and mistrust, create solidarity among women and cooperation between the religions in our region and 2) to act together effectively to enhance the cooperation and respect between religions in our region.”

This is how they describe their activities and vision: WIN MENA CC was formed by several women with the goal of creating solidarity and the opportunity to pursue our own activities. We planned a conference in 2004 at the Dead Sea in Jordan on the topic: "How Women Create Peace" from the point of view of the four religions.  We  are planning many conferences in the future to provide an opportunity for women of our region to get together and learn about each other's religions and cultures.  We believe that we can be a powerful and unique force promoting interfaith understanding, solidarity among women of different religions, and the purpose of URI."

All parts of society have to be conscious of the particular role they play in peace building. It is important that women have given a step forward and that with a generous heart and deep commitment find their way to create solidarity and cooperation in a difficult reality. Let us support their determination.

May members of Women´s Interfaith Network of the Middle East and North Africa fulfill their aspirations and live in Peace!

May Peace prevail in Middle East and North Africa!

May Peace prevail on Earth!

*******************************************************************

Day 83:

Today we will support in prayer/meditation a cooperation circle that has chosen arts as a path to unity.

Music of the Soul CC very clearly states its purpose: “To use music (but also other performing arts), especially music with connection to religion, to create understanding and unity for people from different cultures.”

Their description of activities in the community directory brings very concrete actions as well as the deep belief that supports them: “We are raising money for a musical ensemble in which Jews and Arabs in Israel will play religious music together. We want to realize the purpose of the URI through art and especially music. We believe that music helps to bridge differences between cultures and beliefs.”

Music is created by the combination of sounds and instruments. Let us pray/meditate that there will be a time, as members of this cooperation circle believe, in which our differences combine harmoniously and bring peace to the world.

May members of Music of the Soul CC fulfill their aspirations and live in Peace!

May Peace prevail in Middle East and North Africa!

May Peace prevail on Earth!

***************************************************************

Day 82:

Middle East North Africa-Starting today we will support twenty cooperation circles working in a new region: Middle East and North Africa.

At the beginning of the list we find The Abrahamic Reunion CC created: “To bring healing and reconciliation between the Children of Abraham in the Holy Land. We intend to bring the voice of the religious leaders of Jewish, Christian, Muslim and Druze communities to be heard as a force for rebuilding trust between our religious communities. We also travel as a group to different parts of the world to give public forums, giving hope that peace in the Holy Land is possible.”

The work of The Abrahamic Reunion CC goes beyond the limits of the region. This is their description of activities in the community directory: “The Abrahamic Circle first formed with the support of the Rising ide International Sufi Community in Sarasota, Florida. We are part of an informal network of spiritual peacemakers who journeyed together to the Parliament of the World´s Religions in Barcelona in July 2005. At the Parliament we held a one day Symposium: The Abrahamic Reunion. During our time there we bounded into a new family who had not met all together before, hoping to continue as a group to make a difference. See website: www.spiritualpeacemakers.org for more info.”

As we imagine its members in action we see them live into a sentence in our Preamble “We unite to build safe places for conflict resolution, healing and reconciliation.” Let us support their important cooperative effort for peace.

May members of The Abrahamic Reunion CC fulfill their aspirations and live in Peace!

May Peace prevail in Middle East and North Africa!

May Peace prevail on Earth!
