Amman, Jordan. Under the patronage of her highness Princess Basmeh Bent Ali , Quested Peace group organized a Christmas celebration for 250 children of Al Fuhies (a Christian Suburb next Amman) at Bait Al Fuhies.
The celebration designed to
reflect the spirit of Amman Peaceful message lunched by his Majesty
King Abdullah the Second. Therefore, Mrs. Najah Abu Hazeem, a Quested
Peace lady who lives in Mahies (a Muslim suburb next Al Fuhies Suburb)
opened the celebration by welcoming her highness, then highlighted some
aspects of his majesty peaceful message.
Afterwards she tackled the
cooperation between the two neighboring suburbs al Fuhies and Mahies as
an example of the long standingMuslim- Christian cooperation. She described a touchy story when the
two suburbs organized a peaceful walk to condemn the terrorist attack
on three hotels in Amman almost a year ago. The walk message was: A
national unity of Islam and Christianity against terrorism. On his
part, the head of Al Fuhies Suburb, delivered a speech on the holiness
of Christmas day.
Then Al Fuhies folklore band play wonderful Christmas and Folklore
songs, the children got excited and start dancing. At the end of the
celebration, Her Highness Princess Basmeh Bent Ali and four Quested
Peace members distributed 125 jackets to poor children in Fuhies. Then
Quested Peace team distributed gifts and sweets to all children. It
really was a big celebration, we touched the happiness of audience.
I
was lucky to have a wonderful conversation with her highness. I told
her about URI and its work in Jordan and worldwide. Involving a member
of the Royal Family in our activities is a remarkable success for
Quested Peace.
