Eight members of Quested Peace CC organized an entertainment program for the children who are patients at Al Hussein Cancer Hospital. The aim of this activity was to promote the acceptance of cancer patients as normal people and to confirm the fact that cancer is not contagious. Thus, there is no harm in touching and playing with cancer patients. In addition, the program was created to encourage the community to stand by the cancer patients, especially since supporting cancer patients has a positive impact on cancer treatment. It has helped many patients to overcome this disease.
The program contained the following activities: 1 - Talent Show:
We were surprised by the talents of the children who were patients. They sang, imitated, recited holy Quran (the Islamic holy book) and poems. We were all amused by their talents. 2 - Games and Contests:
It was a challenge for us to overcome the patients’ health constrains and engage them in games and contests that require physical and mental efforts. But they were up to this challenge and their performance exceeded our expectations. 3 - Gift Distribution:
At the end of our program, we distributed gifts to all the patients who attended the event. Then we visited the patients who could not attend as a result of their health conditions and gave them gifts.
This was an unforgettable experience for us. We learned that the gift of health is priceless.
Together we can make the world better. |
