Leaders of the SEA-Pac region gather together on the first day of meetings to discuss regional affairs.Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia- Moving forward in solidarity to build cultures of peace in the region, the Regional Trustees and leaders of Cooperation Circles in the Southeast Pacific region meet for their region’s 3rd annual regional meeting.

The meeting took place March 14-16, 2007 and included three days of meetings.

The meetings took place in the Pure Life Society center where CCs were able to share updates and pictures from their activities and how they became a part of URI.

Regional committee reports were also given and discussed, as well as ways in which the region should work towards creating resources (human and financial) starting with the CC level, working towards self-sufficient, self-sustaining CCs.

p1170699.jpgOutgoing regional chairperson Dr. Amir Farid Isahak formally introduced his replacement Sr. Sandra Clemente who presided over the Regional Planning for 2007 and 2008. During this time those gathered were divided into two groups and discussed the region’s three main areas of concern: Public Relations, CC- building/nurturing/bonding and finance and sustainability.

The ideas raised from these discussions included: youth involvement in CCs and the need to identity country representatives or a country coordinator and point persons for each of the three committee areas.

“As promising as the continued growth of a seedling that has been transplanted from germination to its designed place where it shall rightly take root- the 3rd Regional Meeting conluded with promising plans, blossoming hope and deepning roots of relationships for the growth of the URI family in the Southeast Asia-Pacific region,” wrote
