Executive Director's Reflections: URI Global Council, Global Staff Meetings Print E-mail

Greetings of love and peace. I write these notes a few days after the end of the URI Global Council Trustees and Global Staff Meeting to give you some final thoughts.

Our meeting was held May 21-26, 2006, in the warm hospitality of the Vallombrosa Center in Menlo Park, California, USA.

We learned of expanding URI work in Europe in the midst of increasing societal volatility there; of their successes in becoming an internationally chartered organization in Brussels and in attracting funding from the European Union. We heard of plans to create a URI national trust in India to provide a means to raise funds there; and asked how we can more accurately reflect the significant resources that are raised locally to support the work of URI’s CCs around the world.
