The meeting was generously hosted by Bond Zonder Nam, the ‘Movement Without a Name' CC, and its Executive Director, Patrick Hanjoul, June 10-15 and brought together Trustees representing all seven geographic regions and one virtual region across the globe.

Early in the week, the Global Council, which consists of Trustees from numerous religious and spiritual traditions and 18 countries, time was given to in-depth interfaith dialogue about retired California Episcopal Bishop and URI founder William Swing’s vision of URI’s future.

The open, loving, and challenging conversation demonstrated the depth of relationship that has developed among the GC Trustees and the increasing willingness of its members to take conversation to a deep level,” said URI Executive Director Rev. Charles Gibbs. “With great power and generosity, they shared their concerns and ensured that the movement to fuel substantial growth to URI would not endanger the spirit of our charter or the integrity of our organization.”

This type of dialogue continued throughout the gathering and continued through discussions on proposed structural changes within URI.
