Melbourne, Australia. The Parliament of the World’s Religions, the world’s
largest interreligious gathering, will convene in Melbourne, Australia,
from December 3-9, 2009. The Parliament will offer more than 500 programs
including dialogues, workshops, symposia, performances and exhibits, featuring
programs on religion and the environment, Aboriginal and Indigenous leaders
from around the world, as well as religious leaders from all the world's
religions.
Over
thirty presentations will be made by members of URI from all our regions. These workshops and panel discussions are listed on the URI website Parliament page - follow this LINK to
see the schedule. In addition, workshop leaders will be adding their materials and handouts to their listings.
Members of the URI Southeast
Asia and the Pacific Region are leading the initiative to provide the URI
hospitality and presence at the Parliament. URI is sharing a Booth with
the Dharma Realm Buddhist Association through the courtesy of Rev. Heng Sure.
To add to the festivities, a reception will be held for
URI members on December 2nd, hosted by COMMON CC and Green Faith CC
in Melbourne,
and a URI Global Community Gathering will be hosted by Charles
Gibbs and Shakun Vaswani
on December 5th.
