URI respects your right to privacy. URI will not sell, trade or give away any of the personally identifiable information we collect - your name, cause affiliation, e-mail address, preferences, donation information, site activity or other personally identifiable information - to any third party without your consent or a court order.

Though we make every effort to preserve your privacy we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein it is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our Web site.

URI.org provides you with the ability to donate money. URI's privacy statement (below) pertains to these services and the management of data related to providing these services.

Privacy Statement

How does uri.org use the information collected?

If you have permitted us to do so, we will be utilizing your e-mail address to send you our newsletters and to alert you to special opportunities to give to URI or special news of our community.

We may disclose aggregate information gathered on this site in order to analyze our usage and report to our membership and donors. We will take great care to ensure that personally identifiable information remains confidential.

What security measures are taken to protect member information?

Non-authorized personnel do not have physical access to our computers or database. Employees review security guidelines on a quarterly basis, as well as any time new policies are added. The servers that we use to store personally identifiable information are secured through administrator passwords.

Does URI track users on its website?

Yes, URI uses an analytical tool to help measure traffic on its websites and measurements related to helping better serve its members and visitors. This tool does not track individual information, only browser, platform and general information.

If you are a subscriber, you may opt out of receiving any newsletter or correspondence at any time by following the link provided in each newsletter, or by visiting the Resources area, and clicking the link to Change Your Newsletter Subscriptions. How will I be notified of changes to this privacy policy?

If URI materially changes its practices in handling personally identifiable information, as described in this policy, we will notify you by posting the changes on this privacy statement and on the URI.org site at least 30 days prior to implementation.

You will have a choice as to whether or not we use your information in a different manner. If our policy changes, it will not be applied retroactively to data already collected.
