These organizations exemplify the dynamic efforts to integrate peacebuilding in local communities happening throughout the world.

Center for the Advancement of Nonviolence

Builds a culture of nonviolence and peace through education, research, and transformation. It hosts many programs and educational opportunities associated with nonviolent peace, mainly in the Southern Californian and Los Angeles areas.

Peace Action

Works to achieve the abolition of nuclear weapons, the development of a peace-oriented economy, an end to the international weapons trade, and promotes non-military solutions to international conflicts. Peace Action has a membership of 85,000 persons, 27 state affiliates, and over 100 local chapters, making it the largest membership and activist peace network in the United States. Peace Action members work for policy changes in Congress, state capitals, city halls and the United Nations.

The Peres Center for Peace

Prmotes peace in the Middle East. Their mission is to build an infrastructure of peace by and for the people of the Middle East that promotes socio-economic development, while advancing cooperation and mutual understanding.

Compassionate Listening Project (formerly Mid-East Citizen Diplomacy)

Works in Israel and Palestine to aid in reconciliation using the Compassionate Listening system as a dynamic method in peacebuilding. Their Compassionate Listening Program has been successful in the reconciliation process in the Middle East.

Nairobi Peace Initiative

The Nairobi Peace Initiative (NPI) is developing and practicing a multidisciplinary, holistic approach to conflict in Africa, with the view that conflict prevention is an integral element of peace-building and conflict transformation.

National Peace Foundation

Important USA national peace organization which promotes peacebuilding and conflict-resolution at every level. Helped in the founding of USIP and helps with national peace education throughout the United States. They are located in Washington D.C., USA.

The Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement of Sri Lanka

Widely active in Sri-Lanka in a nonviolent movement to bring peace. Volunteers help bring about social change to thousands of villages in need. Hosted the largest peace meditation in history, involving about 650,000 people throughout Sri Lanka to meditate for peace.
