Jordan CC Celebrates Iftar with Orphans

Ramadan is a blessed month for all Muslims around the world. In this holy month, charity work and donations are increased to spread some smiles among the poor and needy. For this occasion, the Quested Peace Cooperation Circle arranged for their first project during Ramadan to be celebrating Ramadan’s Iftar with orphans and needy children between the ages of 8 and 12.

With Children at Center, Women Leading, URI MENA Celebrates the International Day of Peace

As the International Day of Peace approached, some members of the URI in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) suggested that we celebrate this day a little bit earlier since many URI members from the Middle East and North Africa Region were already in Amman for the Women's Interfaith Network of the Middle East and North Africa (WIN MENA) leadership workshop. Therefore, we seized the opportunity to have Atefeh (URI Global Council Trustee for our region) and a distinguished group of women peacebuilders celebrate of this day with us on the 6th of September 2007.

The Woman in Judaism, Christianity & Islam

The Hope Flowers School and the Interfaith Encounter Association came together for two days, August 23-24, in Old City Jerusalem to discuss the differences and similarities of the role, status, and treatment of women in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.  They also shared stories about women that had been meaningful in their individual lives and found common threads of love and respect.

URI Members in Jordan Participate in 'On the Way to Sulha Gathering 2007'

Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, Israel: Four URI members representing two different Cooperation Circles from Jordan attended a gathering at a Monastery between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem that focused on healing, building trust, and looking towards a future of peace.  At this gathering, people from all walks of life sat together outside, under the same sky, to come together and share their common humanity.
