Dear All, Below please fine the photos of a Peace procession under the auspices of the Karickam International Public School CC held in connection with children's day. Children's day (November 14) is a national event in India, dedicated for Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, who loved children so much. This year's celebration was inaugurated by Rev. Elias from Brazil. About three hundred students and others walked down the street shouting slogans for peace and destruction of war.

TWO INTERFAITH ORGANIZATIONS IN ETHIOPIA JOIN HANDS TO PROMOTE PEACE
The Interfaith Peace-Building Initiative (IPI) and the Ethiopian Interfaith Forum for Development Dialogue and Action (EIFFDA) signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a partnership to work together to build a culture of peace throughout Ethiopia.
Both IPI and EIFFDA recognize that different religions and faith-based organizations have a major role to play in conflict prevention, peace-building and reconciliation. Too often acts of violence are committed in the name of religion and it is high time for faith communities and interfaith organizations to assert that all religions should be a healing force and an instrument for peace. Therefore, IPI and EIFFDA have joined hands in promoting understanding, respect, trust and cooperation among different religions.
Interfaith Peace-Building Initiative is a registered organization which has been working actively since 2003 to promote interfaith cooperation, a culture of peace, harmony, constructive dialogue and the Golden Rule. It is a member of United Religions Initiative, an international interfaith organization which is working globally for peace and cooperation.
The aim of Ethiopian Interfaith Forum for Development Dialogue and Action is to provide a mechanism for faith based organizations to be effectively engaged in the generation of religion-inspired conception and practice of development that could ultimately bring about social, economic, cultural and spiritual prosperity of the vast majority of Ethiopians living in abject material poverty.
The MOU was signed in the office of IPI on September 3, 2008.

Asansol,
East Zone,
India. “We like to play together, no matter where we come
from,” said a passionate young leader, standing on a field in Asansol, India,
where over a hundred youth gathered for a multi-city tournament on August 2, 2008. The fourteen soccer teams that participated drew over 250
people from the city and surrounding towns for a day of fun, fellowship, and learning about URI.The decision to hold the tournament came
from a longing to unite communities in the area through a social event, and to
share URI with the participating young people. Eighty percent of the expenses
were funded by local businessmen.
