Our purpose is to promote harmonious co-existence among religions and to work for the betterment of the conditions of the oppressed.
We are a group of Aborigines (Dalits) striving to uplift our class. Although our history is marked by suffering, we are currently at the forefront of working for peace and justice. We collaborate with a variety of organizations to put on our programs; the National Council of Churches is one of these organizations. In addition to conducting interfaith seminars, our main project is the URI Peace Centre, out of which we run a tuition centre, a women’s welfare program, and regular study courses. With the help of the South India Region, we have also held a peacebuilding institute and leadership training. Some of our other activities include partnering with Bethany Ashram to celebrate International Day of Peace and commemorating Gandhi Jayanthi with a day of service.
