Our purpose is to introduce and start the harmonious relationship between people of different religions through exchanging dialogues.
Our CC has a Department of Social Welfare loan for a livelihood program and we have received seed money from the Australian Embassy. We have been participating in different activities such as: we organized a petition to the local government that called for the cementing of the pavement and installation of street lights in the dark alleys of the village; we participated in tree-planting, riverside cleanup, basic waste management (for Uri’s 10th anniversary celebration); we partnered with the Peacemakers’ Circle in engaging the MCYPD youth in the first celebration of the World Interfaith Harmony Week on February 2010 wherein the youth visited and performed for the communities of the Bahia and the Sikh faiths; and we participated in a 10-month training program (June-March 2010) under the Peacemakers’ Circle-Australian Embassy’s Strengthening Grassroots Interfaith Dialogue and Understanding (SGIDU).
