Abdallah Hendawy was born in the Mediterranean Alexandria of Egypt, he holds a BA in Business Administration and advanced certificates in peace and conflict studies. Hendawy is a dynamic trainer in fields of Human Rights and Intercultural Dialogue, and has conducted workshops in several countries and worked in different international organizations. Hendawy also hosts a weekly Television talk show on the current political situation in Egypt, and writes regularly in local newspapers as a political commentator.

While I am abroad, thousands of miles away from my homeland Egypt, watching overwhelming violence carried out by the military and police forces against peaceful protesters in Tahrir Square in downtown Cairo chanting peacefully for the sake of democracy and end the military rule in Egypt.

Peace is not just a word to be said in a chat box or statement to be announced in a fizzy political speech and not even a book to be published by the most famous peace activist in the world, it is rather a spirit that we all need to experience within ourselves before we communicate it to others. It is as simple as it is written in five Latin characters but as important as water to our life's sustainability.
