Ajarat Bada

Ajarat Bada is a 25 year old Muslim girl who was born and raised in Nigeria but moved to the United States for her college education. She graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree from Drexel University and holds a Masters in Public Health. After graduation, she worked at the world-renowned Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. In the course of obtaining her Masters Degree, she worked in a multitude of roles; as a Teaching Assistant for the Biostatistics/Epidemiology Department, a Research Analyst with the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR); as an Emergency Prepared-ness Program Developer/Evaluator for the County of San Bernardino, California; as a volunteer for the US Doctors for Africa and as the United Nations ECOSOC Youth representative for the United Religions Initiative. She was chosen as the One Young World Ambassador for Nigeria and in this role she started the advocacy initiative called “The Missing Millennium Development Goal - Ensure Interfaith Collaboration for Peace” in April of 2010. She hopes to expand this initiative as a URI Youth Ambassador, planning to petition the UN to recognise the role of religion in shaping the direction of development and peacebuilding. She is particularly excited to be a URI Global Ambassador because of the wonderful opportunity to work with bright and talented young people from all over the world.
