Inter-religious dialogue for social harmony

15 October 2010

Dear friends and colleagues,

Is religion a source of conflict or resource for peace? Why are there so many religious wars around the world today? Can we transcend the boundaries and barriers of fanatical beliefs and fundamentalism? The Y.M.C.A International Ecumenical Centre, United Religions Initiative and Dr. Alexander Mar Thoma Centre for Dialogue are opening a joint platform where you can ask all these and other related questions. Please come with your family and friends to make maximum out of this unique dialogue event, scheduled to be held at Mar Thoma Jubilee Mandiram, Kottarakkara from 2 P. M onwards on Saturday, 6th November, 2010.

Rt. Rev. Thomas Mar Timotheos Episcopa (AMCD President) will inaugurate the program. Swami Sankarananda, chief of Sankarananda Ashram, Karimpinpuzha, Saheed Ahmed Al Kahasimi, Kottarakkara Imam and Rev. Dr. John Panicker, Principal, Bible Institute, Kompady, Tiruvalla will present papers on the fundamental tenets of three religions. Adv. V. C. Sabu (Y. M. C. A Regional Chairman) will be the moderator. Presentations will be followed by a question answer session for more than one hour. Kindly come prepared with your questions.
