On Saturday, May 9 and May 16, 2015, URI West Africa conducted two Cooperation Circle (CC) Leadership Trainings for CC CLUSTERS ONE and TWO in Jos and Makurdi, respectively. A total of twenty four (24) CC Leaders attended and actively participated in the trainings. We have formed clusters of CCs and the first training was for CC CLUSTER ONE, comprising CCs from Plateau and Bauchi States and Abuja.

The trainings focus mainly on helping CC leaders have a clearer and better understanding of the URI PPPs, URI history, organizational structure, and CC profile collection. Using the “Energizing the Network” training toolkit, the trainings also focused on strategies for strengthening communication, partnership, collaboration and information sharing within the URI Network. The trainings also provided a great opportunity for CC leaders to give updates on projects and work done by their various CCs since our last Regional Assembly in November 2014. Also, to facilitate communication among CC Leaders, a Whatsapp Group Account was created, to be managed by Usman Inuwa of FACIS CC and Jonathan of Rahama Women CC.

Participants also used the opportunity of the trainings to share and discuss upcoming events, projects and to further organize CC exchange visits. Some of our major upcoming events include:

  • URI 15th Anniversary Celebration - Conference of Religious Educators and Leaders (COREL). June 26, 2015, Jos, Nigeria
