Peacemakers' Circle World Interfaith Harmony Week celebration

Peacemakers' Circle logo

invites you to the first celebration of World Interfaith Harmony Week

Come join us-- and the rest of the world-- on February 1-7 to inspire and engage in interfaith understanding, harmony and cooperation!

The first week of February of each year has been designated as World Interfaith Harmony Week by the United Nations. First proposed in 2010 by HM King Abdullah II of Jordan, it aims to promote harmony among all people regardless of their faith. (see www.worldinterfaithharmonyweek.com and www.uri.org/action_areas/world_interfaith_harmony_week)

As people from different religions, spiritual expressions and indigenous traditions believing in peace and unity amidst diversity, we invite you to take part in the first celebration of this worldwide event through any of the following:

1)    Create awareness about the World Interfaith Harmony Week in your faith community and include special intentions for peace and harmony between religions in your regular prayers/meditation, and worship service

2)    Open your temple/church/masjid/place of worship to receive a visit from people of different faiths for them to establish friendships, and to understand more about the spiritual traditions of your faith.

3)    Participate and/or send representatives to join  a scheduled “INTERFAITH HARANA” (Friendship Serenade-Visit to Different Faith Centers) whereby one faith group visits another and offers a creative presentation (in music, dance, or any other art form) as a gift of friendship and harmony.
