Add Your Voice Against Nuclear Weapons This Sept. 26

22 September 2016

The bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki took place 71 years ago, but their terrible legacy still hovers over all of humanity. In an effort to prevent future nuclear tragedies, every year on September 26, the world observes the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons.

According to the United Nations, "This Day provides an occasion for the world community to reaffirm its commitment to global nuclear disarmament as a high priority. It provides an opportunity to educate the public—and their leaders—about the real benefits of eliminating such weapons, and the social and economic costs of perpetuating them."

To mark this somber occasion with our shared conviction that the world will never again see the death and destruction that occurred in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Voices for a World Free of Nuclear Weapons Cooperation Circle invites you to recite The Nuclear Prayer as a call for the abolition of all nuclear weapons.
