Faith Without Borders Prepares for UN Conference

2 May 2012

The Faith Without Borders members recently hosted a discussion in Helsinki on ethically sustainable lifestyles and the possibility for harmony among different world views as part of World Interfaith Harmony Week in February, 2012. That discussion – which included discussions of “the good life” and traditional musical performances -- was co-sponsored by Finland’s Interfaith Dialogue network.

The group has participated in the Zero Draft process for Rio+20, commenting on the Finnish version of the draft written by Kehys, an organization of Finnish non-governmental organizations. The Rio +20 conference is scheduled to take place in Brazil from June 20-22, 2012.

In addition, Heidi Rautionmaa, a former URI trustee, and Aarni Moisala attended the 64th United Nations Conference in Bonn last September as URI representatives. The theme of the conference was “Sustainable Societies, Responsive Citizens.”
