Eid al-Adha (the Festival of Sacrifice) is a Muslim holiday that commemorates the story of Abraham being willing to sacrifice his own son to fulfill God's command. It is celebrated by the symbolic act of slaughtering animals and distributing the meat to the poor and hungry. Worshipers traditionally greet each other in Arabic: Eid Mubarak (“Have a blessed Eid”) and give gifts. Below are some Eid Mubarak wishes from the URI community to all our Muslim friends.

Dear URI family, wishing you a joyous and peaceful Eid al-Adha.

Let us pray that this special festival continues to enrich our lives with prosperity and unites us in the spirit of love and solidarity.

May we continue to shine in the divine blessings of the Almighty.

Eid Mubarak,
In peace and friendship
