The Weekly Shot: Indigenous Wisdom Keepers

Thirty-three Indigenous Wisdom Keepers from six continents gathered in Northern California in July of 2014 for the Hidden Seeds gathering, hosted by the URI Global Indigenous Initiative. The participants engaged in critical dialogue about practical issues and concerns facing their respective communities and humanity at large. They worked together to plan the future of a Global Indigenous Network that could grow out of traditional ways of knowing and being.

In this photo, the Latin American contingent of the Global Indigenous Initiative prepares to make a final presentation to the gathering. Pictured from left to right are: Alejandrino Quispe Mejia, Erika Hernandez Ramirez, Fany Avila, Raul Mamani, Luz Navarette, and Sofia Painiqueo. The photo was taken by Mikuak Rai of WorldBridge Media.
