The Weekly Shot: Karambi Agribusiness Project

Karambi Group of People with Disabilities (KAGPWD), a URI member group (Cooperation Circle) in Kasese, Uganda, is implementing an Agribusiness project to train women with disabilities in modern agriculture methods and business management. The project, funded by the Foundation for Community Development and Empowerment, aims to reduce poverty among the households of persons with disabilities in the local area of Kisololo Parish.

KAGPWD envisions a community where persons with disabilities can enjoy their freedom. It was founded in 1995 by a group of people with disabilities in response to the discrimination, marginalization, isolation, and exclusion they faced within their society.
