Grace Chilongo

Being selected for the Faith for Earth Youth council signifies a profound alignment of Grace Chilongo’s personal and professional passions.

As an individual member of URI and the founder of Youth Empowerment and Environmental Management (YEEM) in Malawi, she has dedicated her efforts to fostering interfaith collaboration for environmental action.

Through her involvement with URI workshops and as a recipient of the URI Youth Seed Grant, she has witnessed the transformative power of grassroots initiatives in addressing environmental challenges.

Her academic background, including a Masters of Science (MSc) Degree in Earth Futures: Environments, Communities, Relationships from the University of Glasgow, UK, has equipped her with the knowledge and skills to advocate for sustainable solutions at the intersection of environmentalism, gender equality, and education.

She is particularly passionate about empowering women and girls to become agents of change in their communities, addressing issues such as water scarcity, land degradation, climate change, and environmental conflicts.

Being selected for the Faith for Earth Youth Council is an affirmation of her commitment to these causes. It provides a platform to amplify the voices of young people and faith communities in advocating for environmental stewardship and social justice.

She is eager to collaborate with fellow council members and contribute to initiatives that promote sustainability, resilience, and holistic well-being.

We also Congratulate  Greshma Raju, Dhruv Bhatt and Vasu Bandu - all members of URI - who have been selected for the Faith for Earth Youth Council 2024-26!
