The Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement is popular globally, and is widely active in Sri-Lanka in a nonviolent movement to bring peace. Volunteers help bring about social change to thousands of villages in need through building community and practical needs. This particular branch hosted the largest peace meditation in history, involving about 650,000 people throughout Sri Lanka to meditate for peace.
