On his new television show, “A Swing With a Crosier,” Bishop Swing offers both insight into how peace can be accomplished and interviews with others – such as theologian Matthew Fox and the Rev. Sally Bingham of Interfaith Power & Light -- who are working toward the same goal.
The program’s first episode explores what Rolling Stone magazine has called one of the greatest songs ever written – John Lennon’s “Imagine.”
“Watch to find out where I think Lennon had it wrong, and what I believe we should be imagining instead, if we want to achieve world peace,” Bishop Swing said.
The show appears on MySourceTV, a new, Web-based television station launched by entrepreneur and San Francisco Women’s Club founder Laura Rose.
Bishop Swing will offer his advice to other entrepreneurs at an upcoming master class for students at the Presidio Graduate School in San Francisco, California. “The Soul of the Entrepreneur: The Purpose Served by Your Creativity” will be open to students, Presidio School alumni and the public.
The former Episcopal Bishop of California, who founded the United Religions Initiative in 1993, Bishop Swing will ask the class to reflect on the universality of entrepreneurship, on just how “nail-biting” the process is, and how critical having a moral compass is to bringing the entrepreneur satisfaction, happiness and fulfillment. Ultimately, the course will encourage students to move forward, be bolder and act with more endurance.
The class will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012 at The Hub, 901 Mission St. in San Francisco. Admission is $50, or $35 for Presidio students and alumni. The class will be offered through the PresidioPRO Center for Professional Development. To register for the course, click here.
