Joe Banfield is the founder of Banfield Forge Consulting and works to promote healthier strategic communications in disaster and high-conflict contexts. He brings seven years of experience as a faith-based dialogue practitioner across the MENA region, the United States, and the UK/Europe, including five years with the Rose Castle Foundation. Joe holds an MA in War Studies from King’s College London and is certified in trauma-informed mediation.

Alongside managing the Learning with Courage and Curiosity project, Joe is currently engaged in political, economic, and humanitarian work related to Palestine and Israel. He leads international partnerships for Gaza Sky Geeks—Palestine’s leading tech hub, founded by Google and a program of NGO Mercy Corps since 2011—and is a member of the UN Gaza Debris Management Working Group. He has also previously served as Senior Adviser to Baron Frankal, CEO of the Portland Trust.

Joe identifies as an ecumenically oriented Christian, having grown up in a Strict Baptist family in Sussex, England. He holds  deep appreciation, love and respect for the role of diverse religions, Indigenous traditions, and spiritual expressions in fostering a healthy and flourishing world.
