Dr. Cumbo is the author of PeaceJam’s award-winning curricula, including the innovative Bullying Prevention Program. For 15 years, she has worked with PeaceJam’s 14 Nobel Peace Prize laureates to inspire 1.25 million youth and educators in 41 countries to build more inclusive communities. She has a PhD in educational psychology from the University of Colorado-Boulder, has held leadership positions in the Department of Education and the Governor’s Commission on Service in Colorado, and has consulted extensively for organizations in the US, Europe, Africa, Central America, and Southeast Asia. Dr. Cumbo has taught at the university level, has 20 years of evaluation experience, and has conducted trainings and keynote addresses around the globe on topics of youth leadership, civic engagement, and most recently, youth solutions to gun violence. As PeaceJam approaches its 25th anniversary, Dr. Cumbo is leading an ambitious global expansion initiative to engage 5 million youth on 5 continents and mobilize young leaders across the globe to promote peace education.
