World Teachers' Day

A seminar on the World Teacher’s Day was conducted by BETHAK organization in collaboration with AAP - CC, Multan. Mr. Francis Jacob director BETHAK chaired the seminar. A large number of parents, teachers and students attended the seminar. Mr. Sarfraz Clement of AAP, Miss Saiqa Irshad and Sharjeel Shamshir paid a great tribute to their teachers for their commitment, dedication and concern for their total development of their students. They were of the opinion that it is the teacher who can bring change, harmony and peace in the society. Mr. Samuel Barkat a senior secondary School teacher and Chairperson of BETHAK compared the teacher with a candle that consumes itself so that other may walk in its light and do not get astray in life. He stressed upon the teacher to be loyal and committed to their profession and develop an enthusiasm for learning and concern for their students academic achievements and personal growth to earn a good name and respect in the society. Mr. John Rehman a senior elementary teacher talked about his experiences as a teacher. You cannot reach out to others said Mr. John until you give your heart and soul in the service of your community. Mr. Francis Jacob told the parents and the students that they have failed to pay due respect to the great benefactor of the nation that’s why the teacher of today has lost his interest in his profession. He is no longer a committed and dedicated to his vocation, as a teacher. A better future, depends on better education and better education depends on better teachers, said Mr. Francis Jacob. He stressed upon the parents and the students to give due credit to the teachers and get the best from their learning and experiences. Rev. Fr. Yusaf Sohan Principal St. joseph’s High School, Mr. Samuel Barkat, Mr. John Rehman, Mrs.Shanti Wilson, Mrs, Sheilla Eugene, Mrs. Qamar Barkat, attend the seminar as a representative of teachers. The teachers present in the seminar were presented Happy Teachers Day cards and garlanded with flowers as a token of respect for the teachers. Mr. Shahzad Francis program coordinator BETHAK thanked the audiences and the resource persons and the seminar ended with a slogan of Salaam Teacher.
