Harmony in Diversity

24 February 2011

Interfaith Harmony is something URI Cooperation Circles search everyday through interfaith cooperation. So, getting together to enjoy each other and to deepen into our Preamble, Purpose and Principles seemed the best way to celebrate World Interfaith Harmony Week to members of the Indigenous People of Argentina CC and Escuela de Amor CC who organized the encounter in URI office in Buenos Aires.

Seated at a circular table the encounter was even more than expected: an opportunity to learn what harmonic relationships mean for indigenous, jews, muslims, christians and read some texts from our Books, to hear what each of our CCs are doing to achieve their purposes, for people that have been in URI from the beginning to tell the story of URI to the new ones, for these to share their expectation.

In a message after the meeting, Rosalía Gutierrez, an indigenous and one of the founder members of URI in Argentina said: "It was good to be together, this is the way in which in our cultures we have mantained our traditions, gathering the different generations and having the old transmitting the history. This is why I was happy listening to Alejandro sharing the beginnings of URI, of Father Louie Dolan, of those that started the way we are now walking. Harmony was really present"
