From: The participants of the Consultation meeting on the Central African Republic
Held on May 8-9, 2014 in Vienna, Austria

Following the two-day meeting held in Vienna, Austria on the theme of facilitation of the peacebuilding process in Central African Republic organized by King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID), we, the participants, express our grave concern at the security situation in the Central African Republic and call for peace and immediate cessation of hostilities and restoration of security.

We call on all the parties involved in the conflict to uphold the teaching of the Golden Rule which says: “Do not do to others what is hateful to you and treat others the way you want to be treated.”

We also call for an immediate end of the horrendous acts of violence against innocent and defenseless civilians of all communities and express our deep concern about the violations of human rights in Central African Republic.

We are calling on the international community to support the effort of humanitarian relief for those displaced and homeless due to the conflict in Central African Republic.

We acknowledge and thank the efforts of different regional, national and international organizations in the process of building peace, security and disarmament in Central African Republic and want to express our solidarity with them in this endeavor.

We also express our thanks and appreciation for KAICIID for organizing this important consultation meeting to support the peace-building effort in the Central African Republic.
