URI SEA-Pac holds two events for peacebuilders and professionals

URI in South East Asia and the Pacific held two events for International Day of Peace this year. 

The first, "The Role of the Medical Profession in Peace-Building," was a discussion held on Monday, September 22. The event took place at the Philippine Kidney and Transplant Institute in Quezon City, Metro Manila, where physicians and paramedical personnel were encouraged to attend.

The other event, "Celebration of IDP with the Launch of Halal Awareness: The Right of Peoples to Peace”, was a URI event in collaboration with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG, GO), the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF, GO) Teach Peace Build Peace Movement (TPBPM, NGO), and the Alliance for Halal Integrity in the Philippines (AHIP, NGO). This event was held in Bulacan, a province outside of Metro Manila where businesspersons are encouraged to attend.
