URI Great Lakes Region publishes this beautiful newsletter featuring news and photos from URI members working in the Great Lakes Africa region.

Some highlights include:

  • Prometra Uganda, a Cooperation Circle working to preserve indigenous knowledge. "Prometra Uganda CC is one of the best models where a fusion of the interfaith and indigenous aspect is being manifested. The operations of PROMETRA Uganda CC at the Buyijja Forest school of traditional healers, a community clinic using traditional medicine, community library and demonstrations of Ecological Organic Agriculture among others is an epicentre for mobilizing mutual interactions of an interfaith indigenous aspect of traditional health practitioners, community members, patients, researchers and university students.”
  • Busoga Cooperation Circle, a Ugandan Cooperation Circle working to keep girls in school by providing education and resources about reproductive and health issues that otherwise make it difficult for female students to attend school with their male classmates.
  • Faiths Together Uganda Cooperation Circle, which plays the Peace Drums at schools to encourage young students to think of diversity in a positive light.
