URI Nkhata Bay CC Plants 2000 Trees in Northern Malawi

Hello friends of Northern Malawi, especially those who are interested in environmental issues! I am happy to share with you good news about URI Nkhata Bay Cooperation Circle (a URI member group). With a small grant from #SAFCEI (Southern African Faith Community Environmental Institute), they have launched a project planting 2,000 trees around T/A Timbiri, Mpamba and near villages.

The reasons behind this project are to regreen the area with soil and fertile trees, and to reduce soil erosion. The project will be officially launched today with T/A Timbiri as a guest of honor. Faith leaders, community leaders, youth groups, and government officials through the Forest Office will be there to witness the beginning of the initiative.

''Those who care about the environment, they care about words of God."
