URI Stories of Impact

Cooperation Circles worldwide have embarked passionately to restore the environment in their communities. One of the ways is through tree planting. 

URI Individual Member, Grace Chilongo was selected for the Faith for Earth Youth Council, a project coordinated by UNEP Faith for Earth Coalition in collaboration with the Faith Thematic Working Group under the Children and Youth Major Group (CYMG) to UNEP.

URI and the Center for Earth Ethics, are collaborating on a series of grassroots dialogues in communities around the world most affected by the impacts of climate change and environmental devastation.

During this season of Ramadan, Easter, and Passover, the descendants of Abraham – millions of them – are massively suffering from an unholy war of terror and revenge in the Holy Land.

UNAKITA, a URI Cooperation Circle in Buenos Aires, Argentina, participated in the “Old Women Revolution”. Twenty women, all elders, gathered to address ways to create a dignified life.  

The Australian Religious Response to Climate Change (ARRCC), a Cooperation Circle of URI, with faith communities across Australia, is organizing a set of actions as part of a global multi-faith Week of Action from May 3 to 12.

The centerpiece will be large banners placed at iconic places of worship calling on the Australian government to stop new coal and gas projects and provide proper levels of climate finance for countries hardest hit by climate disasters.

Desert Bloom Cooperation Circle in URI MENA region organized a self-care workshop for women from six (6) Cooperation Circles.
