Rwenzori Abductees and Returnees Organisation (FORARO), was started by three ADF war victims i.e. Baluku Moses, Muhindo Henry and Mbusa Katsuba Asasio, who are among the young boys that were abducted from St. John’s Minor Seminary on 16th August 1997. This was after realizing the need and necessity, as a team, to put into account the needs and demands of the vulnerable war victims. These needs and demands are poverty eradication, medical care and education. Single motherhood and the lack of involvement in national activities, among others, are concerns that need to be addressed.
The vulnerable ADF war victims are willing to contribute towards the social welfare of the rural and urban development in the great Rwenzori region and its economy on a self-reliance basis and bearing in mind the great need for co-operation for enhancing social welfare and development amidst our community and Uganda as a whole.
FORARO is a Community Based Organization (CBO) registered by Kasese District Local Government. Since its inception in 2010, FORARO has tried to reach out to the victims of war in the region who are struggling to cope with suffering. The untreated war-related injuries are a painful reminder of the horrors the victims have lived through.
