On the occasion of “International Day of Peace" on the 21st September, PEACE CC members Millindar and Anula organized a drawing/painting exhibition and peace march for children in the age group of 5 years to 10 years in their area.

.

For nearly two weeks before the event, they gave wide publicity by visiting several residences in their society and in the neighborhood. The event was organized in the western suburb of Mumbai.

Mother Teresa’s quote ‘Peace Begins with a Smile" was taken as the theme.

Children from residential society and their neighborhood came forward spontaneously to participate in painting and drawing. Many asked if there was any fee for participation. When they were told, it was free, their joy knew no bounds. They reached much earlier than expected time and enthusiastically began with their drawing sketches. After that, they mounted/pasted their exhibits on the wall and they were open for general public.

The visitors, mostly youth besides choosing the best exhibit also participated in the 'write a peace message' event.

After that, a ‘Peace March’ was organized with the kids and youth along with members of the society. White balloons were carried as the symbol of peace.

Millindar and Anula said, 'The idea behind organizing these events is to instil in the minds of the participants the sense of living in harmony with one another in a community, spreading the message of love and peace and that children make wonderful messengers of Peace through their innocence and spontaneity.'
