1st West Africa Microfinance Conference Held in Accra

Accra/April 27, 2013: The African Centre for Peace Building (AFCOPB) a URI CC based in Ghana held a three day conference (1st West Africa Microfinance Conference)-Wenesday April 24 to Friday April 26, 2013. The conference which is under the theme “Empowering Africa for Economic Peace: The Role of the Microfinance Sector” brought together experts, scholars and policy maker to find lasting solution to the challenges confronting the sector.

At an opening ceremony chaired by the Deputy Governor of Bank of Ghana, Mr. Millison Narh commended the African Centre for Peace Building for taking up this initiative and practically connecting peace-building and business promotion. “I could not heritage to approve of the partnership between the African Centre for Peace Building and Bank of Ghana because I know is the very good initiative” Mr. Narh said.

Hon. Fifi Kwetey, the Minister at the Presidency in charge of Finance and Allied Institution representing the President of Ghana also commended AFCOPB for providing this platform for policy maker, regulators and practitioners for share information in the industry during his presentation on Government programmes and policies for the microfinance sector.
