The Mayan Calendar in Handicrafts

Vilma Rosaura Palax, first contact of the CC Los Descendientes de Guatemaya was invited to participate as a panelist in a webinar on what is art for indigenous peoples. Vilma from her Mayan worldview will tell “The Mayan calendar is made up of 4 cardinal points (b'alam kitze, balam aqab ', majakutae, iq b'alam), 20 days (B'atz, e', aj, ix, tzikin, ajmaq, noj, tijax, kawoq, ajpu, imox, iq, aq'abal, kat, kan, keme, kiej, q'anil, toj and tz'i), 19 months (jun takaxpwal, nabey tumusus, rucan tumusus, subuiko o subuixic, uchum, nab'el mam, rukan mam, liq 'in q'a, nab'ey toqik, rukan toqik, nab'ey pach, rukan pach, tzikin qij, qaqan, botan, katik, izkal, pariche and tzapin qij), and numbering 13 (jun, kai, oxi, kaji, wo'o, waq'i, wuqu, waqxaqi, beleje, lajuj, lunlajuj, kablajuj and oxlajuj), which is related to handicrafts. " Rosalía Gutierrez, the first contact of the Indigenous Peoples CC of Argentina, will also be participating.
