URI Stories of Impact

Action Against Poverty Cooperation Circle held a program with women sanitary workers in Multan. The purpose of the program was to create awareness among women about their rights in the light of Mother’s Day, and to highlight the importance of mothers.

From May 23rd-24th, 2015, Cooperation Circles from URI South India and Sri Lanka gathered to share their work and discuss future plans.

There were two very significant international events in Japan during this month: the Fuji Declaration and the Symphony of Peace Prayer.

URI North America hosted a webinar to empower faith, interfaith and community leaders to take action against human trafficking -- the second largest illegal industry in the world. Our panelists shared educational material, program ideas, best practices and more. 

The Kilifi County Government, in partnership with Global Peace Foundation, and affiliated partners such as URI Kenya, held a Youth Summit that involved over 250 youth from the region.

URI Africa is participating at the launching of the African Initiative on Education for Peace and Development Through Inter-Religious and Inter-Cultural Dialogue.

The Bahá'í holy day of the Ascension of Bahá'u'lláh begins at sundown on May 28, 2015. 

After recently reading Bishop Swing’s new book, A Bishop’s Quest, I am reinvigorated by the call and the design of the URI.
