URI Africa commemorated the 2014 International Day of Peace in two ways this year.

Earlier this week, URI partner the Council for a Parliament for the World’s Religions announced that its signature conference would be held in Salt Lake City, Utah, US in October of 2015. 

For this year's International Day of Peace (IDP), URI’s Cooperation Circles (CCs) in Sri Lanka held several engaging events throughout the region.

PEACE CC, a four-month old Cooperation Circle, is excited about celebrating International Day of Peace for the first time through various events.

URI Pakistan held its 15th Annual Grand Christmas rejoicing program at the URI Pakistan Peace Center in Lahore in 2013.

Being aware of importance of Nonviolent Communication in the future of the URI Europe Cooperation Circle Youth for Peace from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

If more humans start envisioning peace, in very practical, concrete ways, it makes a difference. 

Despina Namwembe, the URI Africa Regional Coordinator for Great Lakes travelled to Kenya and met with Nyambura Mundia, the Administrator of URI Africa, Kate Kiama, YLP youth ambassador and other women from different disciplines at the end of June, 2013.
