URI Stories of Impact

URI-SEAPac held a roundtable discussion on protecting the environment as part of its celebration of World Interfaith Harmony Week. 

Five URI members from Uganda went to Thailand to dialogue and share experiences on the themes of religion, conflict, politics and peace.

To prevent violence before, during and after the upcoming elections in Kenya, URI Africa helped organize an Interfaith Peace Prayer Initiative.

On Feb. 5 2013, the Young Leaders Program organized a youth event to celebrate World Interfaith Harmony Week under the theme “Love of God, Love of Neighbor.” 

For the Rev. Charles Gibbs, a few hours at the United Nations provided a vision of a world at peace.

As the UN General Assembly unanimously passed a resoulation to observe the World Interfaith Harmony Week annually during the first week of February. During the 1^st week of February 2013 the world celebrated 3^rd world interfaith harmony week throughout the world.  PCSW&HR also actively participated to celebrate the world interfaith harmony week. To celebrate this week PCSW&HR organized various awareness activities in which seminar at Sialkot on the topic “Peace through Interfaith Harmony & Dialogue” on 6^th February 2013 was main activity. In the seminar hundreds of believer (both male & female) of different faiths in which Muslims, Christians, Hindus etc participated.

With the help of an Environmental Seed Grant, the members of the Samal Joro Abhiyan CC have launched a major tree-planting campaign in an area of East India devastated by mining operations.
