The Youth Association for Peace and Development (YAPD) is a Youth and refugee-led, non-profit national organization operating across several states in South Sudan. Founded to respond to the deep-rooted challenges of poverty, conflict, and marginalization, YAPD works to empower vulnerable communities particularly youth, women, and children through humanitarian assistance, social development, and sustainable livelihoods YAPD was established in the year 2018 and has been in operations, mitigating suffering through provision of lifesaving assistance and holistic social services to most vulnerable communities focusing especially on women, children and youth inclusion, protection and development. The organization works through equipping people with skills, knowledge and helps communities rebuild their lives and restore hope through resilient building programmes. To make tangible impact, YAPD works in collaboration with others implementing partners to build resilient communities with hope to become self-sufficient, and to increase pool of community facilitators with a zeal to transform the wider society out of extreme poverty, hunger, illiteracy and diseases, and to improve social amenities, welfare and economic livelihoods.
