Prayer & Solidarity Ceremony with the Victims of Peshawar Church Attack and Religious Minorities Living in Pakistan Organized by Pakistan Council for Social Welfare & Human Rights

Pakistan Council for Social Welfare & Human Rights organized a prayer and solidarity ceremony for the victims of Peshawar Church attack with the collaboration of Religious and Civil Society of Sialkot at its office on 28th September 2013. The purpose of that prayer & solidarity ceremony was to condemn the suicide attack, offer prayer for those innocent people died in that brutal suicide attack, show solidarity with the religious minorities living here in Pakistan and also create an inter-religious & inter-cultural harmony, understanding to eradicate their depravedness and assure them that protection of minorities and their assets is moral obligation of Islamic state and its citizens, civil societies, media and others peace lovers sectors of life and there is no difference being Pakistani between the Muslims & Christians and infect the Muslim community is custodian of their fundamental religious and human rights as per teachings of Islam and ideology and constitution of Pakistan and vision of Father of Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The ceremony was attended by the large number of people belonging from all religious groups based here in Pakistan. Well renowned religious scholar Molana Abdul Ghafoor Noori, Grand Regional Imam, was chief guest of that ceremony. Mr. Muhammad Ijaz Noori Chairman Pakistan Council for Social Welfare & Human Rights presided over the prayer and solidarity ceremony. Whereas President Ulamha Mashiq Council Dr. Mufti Najeeb Ahmed Hashmi, Executive Director PCSW&HR Mr. Mansoor Ahmed, Ex-vice chairman Pakistan Gloves Manufacturing Association & member Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ch. Muhammad Ijaz, President women Association of Sialkot Ms. Aneela Butt, Prominent political and social figure Ms. Bushra Razaq Ali, Religious Scholar & Imam Masjid Imam Ali ul Haq Moulana Wazeer Ali Shah, Mr. Emanuel K Gill from Dices of Sialkot Churches, Mr. Shahid Bashir Ghouri, Muhammad Hanif Janjua, Abdur Razzaq Ali, Mr. Bilal Khan Senior Vice President Electronic Media Association and others also attended the ceremony.

The ceremony formally started with the recitation of Holy Quran and Moulana Moulana Syed Wazir Ali Shah recited the verses from Holy Quran. Mr. Muhammad Ijaz Noori Chairman PCSW&HR thanked the all participants to participate in the ceremony and also highlighted the purpose of the ceremony.

 

While addressing during the ceremony Molana Abdul Ghafoor Noori Grand Regional Imam, Mr. Muhammad Ijaz Noori, Dr. Mufti Najeeb Ahmed Hashmir, Mansoor Ahmed and speakers strongly condemn this brutal suicide attack on Church which claimed 81 innocent lives and more than 100 injured. All speakers showed their solidarity with the aggrieved families as well as the entire Christian community living here in Pakistan, they said that at time of trial all Muslims and other religious community are with the whole Christian community. They also said that the segments of society who wanted peace are being targeted by terrorists, attack on the religious places and murder of innocent people is not only shameful act and against humanity but also forbidden in all spiritual religions. Minorities of Pakistan have played their important role in Pakistan movement and also committed lot of sacrifices in the progress of Nation. The terrorists attacked on the church are the same those are attacking the mosques, schools, Imam Kot and public places.

They further said that attack on a church was an act of terrorism and a conspiracy against Islam and Pakistan, Islam is religion of peace, justice, and teaches us the respect of all religions and their followers provides full protection to the minorities in Islamic state and there is no room for the blood shedding and prejudice with non Muslims in the name of religions. By promoting interfaith & intercultural harmony, social & religious tolerance, self respect we may eliminate the terrorism and extremism from Pakistan. 

This shameful and brutal attack on the Church has united the whole Pakistani nation and this is good time to fight against the mindset of extremism and terrorism in Pakistan with the strengthen of mutual relations, equality and self respect of each other’s and as well as to sensitize and motivate the Pakistan youth and students against the mindset of extremism and terrorism to create the culture of peace, equality, justice and human dignity & rights in Pakistan as well as at global level. The speakers of ceremony also said that we can only bring radical change with giving the proper guidance and counseling to the youth and student.  

During the ceremony through an resolution it was urged the government that it is not enough to say that terrorists had no religion but the government would have to take a stern action against the perpetrators of crimes against humanity.

On behalf of all Christian community Mr. Emanuel K Gill from Dices of Sialkot Churches thanked the all of Muslim members of the Pakistan Council for organizing this prayer & solidarity ceremony to condemn the shameful act of suicide attack and killed the innocent people and showed the solidarity with the aggrieved families and entire Christian community here in Pakistan.

At the end of the ceremony candles were lighting in the memory of those innocent people died during the suicide attack at Church and also to show solidarity with the Christian community. Prayer was also offered for the departure soul of died people and prevailing of peace in Pakistan and throughout the world. The ceremony was published by the all National Newspapers and all TV channels highlighted this ceremony in their news bulletin. 

PCSW&HR Executive Body Meeting to Condemn the Attack

Early on very after the attack on church an emergency meeting of executive body of Pakistan Council for Social Welfare & Human Rights was held under the chair of Mr. Muhammad Ijaz Noori Chairman to condemn the suicide attack and solidarity with the aggrieved families and Christian community in Pakistan. During the executive body meeting of PCSW&HR sympathies and solidarity were showed with the aggrieved families and Christian community and it was committed that whole Pakistani nation is with Christian community at this time of trial.
